This is the villige of my late grandad Mr Phuman Singh ex army served in the Burma and Scilly battles in the 2nd World War. Along with his cousins and friends from Sang Dhesian he joined the army in early 1940's. Phuman Singh was then given passage under the British Raaj when the War ended to go to England to work. He worked in Foundary as many of the asian immigrants did in them days, and eventually saved enough money to invite the whole of his family to England. At the same time Phuman Singh looked after his extended family financailly in india. Just wanted to say the great men of our villiage made so many sacrifices for us and we should never forget them. As well as late Satnam Singh Kainth who too did a lot for the villiage and also knew my grandad. The knowledge and Great Stories my grandad passed to me about about sang dhesian and Baba Sang Temple I will truly hold in my heart and pass it down to my sons and will visit sang dhesian as many times I can.

I visited my families pind back in 2006 my grandad (Piata Singh Dhesi) was born and raised there before moving to the UK along time back (R.I.P Papa Ji). It was a lovely experience to meet all the villagers after 16 years (First went in 1990) and how SO much has changed over there years...We live opposit the Khalsi's and they are great neighbours also Puran & Veer are amazing guys showed me and thought me ALOT about the pind etc. Visited the Sangh Dhesian Gurdwara which brang alot of emotions but at the same time alot of happiness which I could've spent more time there. I also met Baba Ji at the smaller Gurdwara near the farms and he told me the entire story about the pind and my families background which was very touching. Cant wait to back again...Sang Dhesian is where my home is

Hi all, my father Dalmohar Singh kalsi is from sang dhesian pind and we visited in April 2010. We stayed in the pind and visited all local families my father grew up with. I lived the experience and great welcome. We had a great time and I had heard so many great things. We visited the baba sang guardwara, lively place to go first and we celebrated vaisakhi there! I miss it alot and hopefully will visit again with my family.

Hi everybody, it’s been four and a half years and were still going strong! Firstly I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the site. Thanks to everyone who has made this website successful. With everyone’s support and guidance the website will continue and prosper. It wouldn’t have been possible without a lot of peoples support. It’s great to see that this website has brought people all over the world together and to see that they still love their village even though there is thousands and thousands of miles between you and the village. I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart to Thaya Sarwan Singh (Maneem) who has sadly passed away on Monday 11th October 2009 at the grand age of 95. May his soul Rest In Peace and may his legacy live on as a true hero. Without his help and sources this website wouldn’t have been at all possible as he was the only one person who had the old Girls College photos and old gurdwara Baba Sang photos safely stored away. I would like to urge people who leave comments in the guest book to keep their language acceptable and not offensive in any manor. In the past few months have seen many numerous people writing insulting comments towards other members of the website. Sadly, this is why I have to read and accept your comments before they are being posted onto the website. Please keep the good work up.

Guys- this site on sang desian is brilliant--- just what I need- I am going to link it on my site- www.punjabinit.com a website on all of punjab that is relevant to all desi----- not one of those horrible boring punjab government ones. Go to the site and if you have any thing to email me about sang desian- including pictures etc- please do. Or just tell me if the site stinks..... i know it can't as I have or will have a whole page dedicated to Miss Pooja. from the desi@punjabinit.com

I have created article about Sang Dhesian village on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sang_Dhesian You can see satellite view of Sang Dhesian village(you can even locate your home) and Baba Sang Ji Gurdwara by clicking on co-ordinates. Also 5 minute aerial video of village Youtube link is given in external link. I use mobile and I had to go to cyber cafe to view this beautiful video of Sang Dhesian village. If you do not know how to contribute/edit wikipedia, you can email me information about this village(with website reference, if available). So when you have free time, please edit and contribute to this article or email me info. Smile... Thanks. -neo.

As a novice learning Internet I searched Baba Sang Dhesian. And lo, what treasure did I find! I was transported there in a flash .... soothing kirtan in my ears and I could just step in the College. The aerial survey was wonderful and so were the moving messages. They took me down the memory lane --- the ones from Manpreet & Harpreet Sahota among scores of others. My association with the College in great Baba Sang has given me as much permanence that I belong to this place more than any other. Wow!! What a great site! My pind!! My Dad's house is still in there in Sang Dhesian! Made by my Great Great Grandfather Atma Singh Kalsi Ex- Mechanic. My Grandfather, Puran Singh Kalsi, I wasn't lucky enough to know him as i was born after he passed away, but I have so much history about him and I hold it close to my heart. My Grandmother Chattar Kaur Kalsi, a great lady who taught me so much and used to tell me so many stories about my pind that I can relive those moments when I go there. My Dad Sukhdev Singh Kalsi he lived and grew up there as a teenager and then came to England. My Mum and Dad and all my family went there in March 2005. What used to be the Kharkana, has now been converted into a library by my ThayaJi Joginder Singh Kalsi, for the village to use. Baba Sang Gurdwara is the first place we go to. With his blessings the rest our journey begins. I can't wait to go again, this time hopefully I'll get to stay in the pind.. I came across this site after searching Baba Sang Dhesian and it's an excellent website!! Thank you

Hey what a great site.. I love Pind so much that I'v built a house there, right by the bus stand. My late Father Harbajan Singh, whom I miss very much, used to send me to our farm which my Grandfather, Bakshesh Singh(102 and lives with us) used to work with oxon and plough! As a teenager I was going off the rails a bit and it helped me so much knowing where I came from and getting to know the villagers, some of whom are great friends of mine know. I am into property development in Punjab on the high end of the market and I get to go Pind a couple of times a year, it has changed a lot over the years, yet somethings have remained exactly the same since my childhood. I have many fond memiors of bathing the buffalo in the canal, eatting hot Gurr off leaves and so much more.. The wildlife has declined a lot, my Father used to tell me that as a child he saw herds of deer running on the outskirts of the village, wow imaigine that eh? Thanks for the website, I came across it by chance but have addes it to my favorites, will be keeping an eye.. Peace

I am a grandchild of the jalder family (grandparents Harbhagat S Dhesi and Gurdial Kaur) and have fond memories of the village and the gurdwara esp at Vaisakhi time. It has been a while since I wrote for this beautiful guest book. Since then I met a wonderful uncle through you and we are in touch now. This village has given us so much of love that it would be difficult to imagine life without thinking of this village. Whenever I pass by Goraya-my heart goes out all the way to those three kilometers and then the right turn and then the college and to the Principal's residence where we moved once it was constructed. But before that our happiness and sadness was all inside those four walls of Zaildars house where we were lodged ever since my mother joined the college as Principal. I still have not forgotten the smell of that house. My congratulations on improving this site. Keep up the good work. I check on the site every other day. Fateh !!!

I just made a search for Sang Dhesian and found your site. My congratulations to you and this is a fabulous guest book. My mom was the Principal of the College from 1983 to 2002 and I have seen that college evolve in her hands. We lived in this pind from 1983-2002 and I grew up there. We lived in the Zaildars wonderful house. Your site has awakened all those wonderful memories linked with the pind and the house. I studied in the college till 1992 and was the first University Topper from there. This college made my personality and the village gave me my pehchaan. Thanks to all the pendus from there. I remember the presence of Late Kehar Singh Uncle,Late Gurbaksh Singh Zaildar bapu ji-his family S. Sarabdeep singh ji, S. Amrik Singh ji, Sarup Singh Uncle, Charanjit auntie, Piara Singh uncle and his family, Charan Singh Parha uncle and his family and everybody else. I take this opportunity to thank all those who were with us during the last days of my Dad-Sardar Gurnam Singh Dhindsa. Though this is not my native village-yet I always will refer to this village as my village.

hi I have waited a long time for someone to do something like this!! - a website on the history of our beloved Baba Sang. I am a daughter of Sang Dhesian and I also got married at Baba Sang Gurdwara a few years ago - it would nice to hear from our relatives in Sang Dhesian who live in the UK - my mum's house is on College Road - my dad's name is (late) Mohinder Singh Grewal - we regularly go to India and just got back recently from Sang Dhesian - I am married in nearby Village Dhindsa - so it is handy to go to Baba Sang Dhesian especially the gurdwara which is a truly lovely place. I would love to hear from anyone from Sang Dhesian who may have history to share - thank you!!!
