After the construction of the Gurdwara Baba Sang, when Quincentary day of Guru nanak’s birthday came, the public of the area, the Managing Committee of the Gurdwara Baba Sang and the Panchayat of the village Sang Dhesian put a resolution before a big gathering that had assembled for the celebration of the Guru Nanak’s birthday. the resolution was that at that time when the attempts were being made in different sharpes to commemorate the holy greatness of the Guru we should also start an institution for the girl’s higher education in this area of Tehsil Phillaur which they thought would be an ideal attempt on the path of female education because there was no faciality of any nearest college in the rural area and the girls had to afce difficulty in getting higher education. this resolution was passed unanimously on 1. 12. 69. The Gurdwara Committee called a meeting of the selected prominent persons of the area and the President of the Gurwara Managing Committee S. Charan Singh put forward the resolution for the construction of a grls college which was seconded by Kehar Singh Sarpanch Sang Dhesian, Jathedar Lachhman Singh (Chak Des Raj), S. Mehar Singh Chairman anb S. Gurbax Singh Sangh Dhesian. It was decided unanimously that the President of the Gurdwara and the Sarpanch of the village would be given the authority to prepare a code of laws to form a committee and get then registered from Chandhigarh. For the construction of the college 6 acres of the land of the Gurdwara would be given at lease. But fortuanately after a few days Har Narain Kaur, a resident of village Rurki donated Rs. 25, 000/- for the college building by selling her property. For this act of kindness she was inspired by Jathedar Lachhman Singh. This money was shown to the university as security for the college. The construction work was started and the foundation stone of the College was laid by S. Mohan Singh Tur, the then State Minister of Punjab. In an expression of joy he donated Rs. 10, 000/- out of his perssonal funds for the college building. He expressed his happiness at the construction of a college in the memory of Guru Nanak in such a small village and promised to lend a helping hand in future also.

At that time there was only one room but the Managing Committee with the money anors donated by the kind Indians residing in England made hurried and praiseworthy attempts in preparing seven rooms uptill July 1970. The admission was started and Shri Rajinder Singh I. A. S. D. C. Jalandhar inaugurated the working of the institution on 22nd july, 1970 and expressed his joy at the successful attempts in starting a college with such a large building. A large gathering assembled in an expression of joy and was heartily served with meals. An efficient and qualified staff was arranged, a splendid library was prepared for the students. The intelligent and poor students were supplied with books form the college and fee concession was sanctioned to them.

On 15.12.1970 the Vice Chancellor Sh. M. S. Randhawa of Agricultural University paid a kind vivit to the college and was greatly pleased to see the college building. He suggested to plant trees and flowers in a new and systematic way and assured that he will be helpful to the college in future in this respect. As a token of respect he was offered with siropa by president of the Gurudwara. After a few days the President, Secretary and othermembers of the Managing Committee requested the then Dy. Minister Agrilculture, Vaid Kartar Singh to pay a visit to the collegefor its betterment. He accepted this request and visited the institution on 16. 1. 71.

On seeing the smooth working in the college on the day of “Sangran” celebration he said, “There should be more such institutions on our rural areasso that our girls might get good education. Only then our country will make progress.” Appreciating the working of the committee he donated Rs. 20000/- from his private funds and promised to help in future also. After this the Managing Committee continued the construction work of the collge with the help of donations from Indians here and fomr those settled abroad. Uptill July 13, 1971 thirteen rooms of the college building, 10 rooms of hostel and a good cycle stand and canteen including verandhas were completed. Due to good results of the last year, it was demanded that arrangements for the college bus should also be made. Although the Managing Commitee could not afford such a large expenditure but keeping in view the difficulty of the students a bus was purchased by spending a large sum of Rs. 8 50000/- and thus the conveyance was made more easier for the students.

After this Shri Ram Gopal, D. C. Jullundur came here on an official tour and also paid a visit to the college and the Gurudwara. The Managing Commitee requested him to inaugrate the college hostel. He said, “In my visit to this area I felt very glad to see the spacious building of this college. I wish that respected sh. S. S. Bedi, (I. A. S) Commissioner Jullundur Division should inaugurate the hostel. The worthy Commissioner gladly accepted to inaugurate the hostel in 6. 10. 71.
